How Booking a Vacation Works: FAQ's

How do I get prices on a vacation? All you have to do is call Celebration Travel or email us with your dates of travel, number of passengers, desired destination, and budget if you have one. We'll take care of the rest!

How do I book my vacation? Once you have received a quote for your vacation, you may decide to book. You may pay with cash, check, or credit card. We will send your payment to the tour operator and keep up with all of your records. A deposit secures the rate for your vacation, and after you've paid a deposit, you're booked!

How do I pay for my vacation? Tour operators usually require a deposit within 24 hours to two weeks of making a reservation. Once you have deposited, the tour operator will need to receive the final payment about 45 days prior to departure. If you're booking within 30 days, the tour operator will need full payment upon booking. Celebration Travel will accept installments as long as all of the money is turned in to us by the final due date.

When is the best time to book a vacation? We recommend that you book your vacation at least 3-6 months before departure. This will be the time that you will find the most availability and the best prices. Some companies even offer "Earlybird" discounts for customers who book more than 6 months prior to travel.

How will I receive my travel documents? Whether you come into the office to book your vacation or book over the phone, we will call you when your travel documents arrive at our office. All travel documents will be sent to our office about two weeks prior to your departure. If you do not live near our office in Shelbyville, we can send your documents to your house or office. Just let us know what you prefer!

Do I need proof of Citizenship to travel? If you are traveling within the United States, including Hawaii, you will not need a passport or birth certificate to travel. A valid photo I.D. is sufficient. If you are traveling to the Caribbean, Canada, or Mexico, you will need a state-certified birth certificate and valid photo I.D. to travel. Travel to any other destination (Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, etc.) requires a valid passport. ***Note: After December 30, 2006 all passengers traveling to the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, or any other country will be required to have a passport. Celebration Travel recommends applying for a passport as soon as possible, as processing delays are expected closer to the end of the year.***                               

Other Services: We also offer airline ticketing services, hotel reservation services, and car rental services. We can also provide your official passport photos for a fee of $10 per set of two photos. These are instant photos taken in our office.

Gift Certificates: Give the gift of a memory with a gift certificate from Celebration Travel.You may apply a gift certificate to an existing reservation, or give to someone who has not yet booked a vacation. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash, and must be used for a vacation booked through Celebration Travel. We can only accept cash and check for payment of gift certificates.
